Festival of Friends Event's mission is to foster the development and growth of community between adult recreational musicians who are passionate about playing and performing without the constraints, pressures or judgment of the professional music scene.

Festival of Friends brings exciting innovation to recreational musicianship through uniquely curated band programming and live music events. Programming formats include our signature, short-term
Songmixers Series and our longer-form Bandmixers Series.

Our approach to programming is directly focused on the practiced recreational musician who wants to challenge themselves in new ways and apply their existing skill set in a band-centered environment with other like-minded players.

So whether an event's happening in your hometown or you're visiting somewhere new: find an event, sign-up, and join a roster of band mates and local community, where you'll experience a shift in not only how you make music but who you make music with.

No band. No problem.
Just Add You.

Festival of Friends programming formats are designed to be no-pressure and non-competitive live performance experiences for everyday recreational players.

All of our event programming provides a simple and convenient way to connect with like-minded musicians, play in a band, perform live and make some new friends along the way, all minus the legwork of bringing it together.

We shift the playing experience from the living room to the stage and believe the best music is the music we make together.

We host. You play.

Where It All Started

Festival of Friends is the evolution of the original short-term band concept started by three friends in a Seattle garage in 2008.  It was a simple idea: learn, play and perform music in a fun and casual environment for friends, family and community.  What began as a handful of live events with rotating singers (most, first timers to the stage) who rehearsed and then performed cover songs with a backing band, has blossomed into an expanding collection of players and live music-making experiences for everyday musicians ranging from college students to 9-to-5'ers to early retirees.  We welcome your participation in our plug-n-play performance community.

The Pursuit of Recreational Musicianship

Picture
Festival of Friends Events participants range from college students to 9-to-5'ers to early retirees who love to play and perform but lack the time and resources to put it all together.

Our goal is simple: to shift the playing experience from the living room to the stage and make the world a better place through musical connection and live performance, minus the constraints, pressures or judgments of the professional scene. Creating community is at the heart of what we do.

Who You Are

Picture
Festival of Friends Events are for skilled recreational musicians (even if it's been a while and you're simply looking for a way to knock off some rust) who might be short on time but not on passion and seek organized, playing and performance experiences within the broader context of a local-area, musician community.
