Songmixers > How It Works
Festival of Friends Events, Songmixers are made up of -

Pre-organized cover song performance collectives showcasing material by iconic bands and artists performed by a rotating roster of FoF community member musicians.
Guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists and vocalists who've registered in advance for the songs they want to perform on their primary instrument(s). Available instrumentation for each song performance including background vocalists is always material dependent. Background vocalists are always welcome and encouraged to participate so don't let a lead vocalist slot being filled deter you from signing up.
During open registration participants register for a minimum of 1 song and a maximum of 4 songs (based on their primary instrument/s, learning and playing ability and performing interest). If there are additional songs available that you're interested in playing on (beyond your initial selections) we'll notify you about remaining options available after open registration has closed.
Participating musicians must have the ability to accurately learn material on their own (based on specified studio recordings unless otherwise specified) and readily-apply it in a live event setting with no prior rehearsals.
There are no auditions or formalized rehearsals prior to a Songmixers event so coming prepared is mandatory.
Events are fully back lined with all necessary guitar amps and cables, bass rig, pedal boards, keyboards, drums, vocal mics, stands and cables.

Who You Are
Festival of Friends Events are for -

Armchair musicians as well as routine players with an intermediate to advanced-level skill set (even if its been a while and you're just looking to kick off the rust).
Who can accurately learn material on their own and readily apply it in a live event setting.
You enjoy the community and social aspects that collective music-making and live performance provide.
The only requirements for participating musicians is to come prepared and ready to perform (i.e., know your songs and your parts accurately), be respectful to your event band mates and have lots of fun!

Portland / Songmixers Series - Volume 1

Theme > Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Songmixers event will showcase a range of classic songs from an array of iconic bands and artists who have put their own, authentic stamp on the world of rock and roll and achieved world-wide success and influence.

This 20-song performance event will feature music from the following iconic bands and artists: AC/DC, Journey, Blondie, Pretenders, Jimi Hendrix, Eagles, Heart, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, Pat Benatar, Green Day, and many more!
