FESTIVAL OF FRIENDS EVENTS / SEATTLE, WA
Festival of Friends Events are made up of:
- Pre-organized cover song performance collectives showcasing material by iconic bands and artists performed by a rotating cast of musicians over the course of the evening.
- Guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists and vocalists (available instrumentation is material dependent) who've registered in advance for the songs they want to perform on their primary instrument.
- During open registration participants choose a minimum of 2 songs and a maximum of 4 songs (based on their primary instrument). If there are additional songs available that you're interested in playing on (beyond your initial selections) we'll notify you about remaining options (at no extra cost) after open registration has closed.
Festival of Friends Events are for:
- Armchair musicians as well as routine players with an intermediate to advanced-level skill set (even if its been a while and you're just looking to kick off the rust).
- Who can learn material on their own and readily apply it in a live event setting. There are no auditions or formalized rehearsals.
- The only requirements for participating musicians is to come to the show ready to perform (i.e., know the songs and your parts to the best of your ability), be respectful to your event bandmates and to have lots of fun!

Punk Rock returned rock & roll to the basics -- three chords and a simple melody. It just did it louder and faster and more abrasively than any other rock & roll before it. In America (beginning with The Ramones), punk remained an underground sensation, eventually spawning the hardcore and indie-rock scenes of the '80s, but in the UK, it was a full-scale phenomenon. In the U.K., the Sex Pistols were thought of as a serious threat to the well-being of the government and monarchy, but more importantly, they caused countless bands to form. Some of the bands stuck close to the Pistols' original blueprint, but many found their own sound, whether it was the edgy pop of the Buzzcocks, the anthemic or the reggae-informed rock of the Clash. This event will feature a range of punk rock bands showcasing a range of styles and sounds.
