Hired Guns / Performance Partnerships
Festival of Friends Events support aspiring professional musicians and seasoned veterans through our "Hired Guns" performance partnerships. Hired Guns are paid professionals participating as special guest players and performers in Festival of Friends Events exclusive live music bandsharing events. Just another way Festival of Friends Events are supporting musicians: recreational, professional or otherwise. Everybody benefits when they band together.
Booking Standards & Artist Commitment
Festival of Friends Events and participating musicians' success depends on our guest performers reliability, professionalism and dedication. We require musicians who are interested in a particular event to complete a band member application form each time they want to be involved in a specific show. It's a simple process and only takes a moment.
If you make the decision to get involved with a Festival of Friends bandshare event (and are approved to participate) you're committing to the end-goal: learning your respective material ahead of the scheduled show and will be ready to perform come show night.
We vet all guest performers based on their reputation in the community and past record for showing up on time and holding to commitments. We sincerely want this to be a positive experience for everyone involved.

- Headlining event bands are made up of musicians who self-select into an event and include but are not limited to (based on the material being performed) drummers, guitarists, bassists, keyboardists and vocalists.
- There are no formal auditions but there are three, three-hour (mandatory) rehearsals so it's important participating musicians can put in their individual practice time to prepare for the rehearsals and show.
- To participate as a headlining event musician you must either be a professional musician with credentials to back it up (songwriting credits, studio recording artist, freelance gigging/touring musician, etc.) or, in some cases, received approval by our booking staff. Your completed application does not guarantee participation.
- Participation requires you come to rehearsals and the show ready to perform (i.e., know the songs and your parts) with individual playing slots filled through an online application process with Musician Mixers hand selecting the final participants.
- Headlining band members are paid for their rehearsal and event performance time with support/opening acts receiving exposure to new audiences.
