The Community Roulette format is simple: Musicians (a mix of instrumentalists and vocalists) sign up, in advance for the "community roulette" musician pool and are then invited to participate in a pre-scheduled, studio-based band session. You won't know who your band mates are until you've received your invitation. Chance musical encounters for adventurous-minded musicians.
Each roulette band is provided an 1.5 hour studio session to play and "perform" your chosen songs. Band members self-coordinate for a pre-session, informal meet and greet (in person or online) to discuss and collaborate on the band's session "set list". Bands can choose 3-5 songs from any band or artist as long as they are aligned with the session's assigned theme. Session themes are announced at invite.
Community Roulette sessions bring together many facets of our musician community that may seem incompatible, as well as musicians whose interests may conflict. The challenge for these musicians is to go beyond their musical differences and work together to create a unified group that represents personal styles of the individual band members while honoring and reflecting the session's theme.
