We have some exciting news for the FoF Community!
As recently announced, we have taken a big step forward on behalf of the community and secured a dedicated (and roomy), prime-time rehearsal space at the Substation (aka Birdsnest) in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle beginning April 1, with doors officially opening for FoF programming this Saturday, April 5!
For those not familiar with Substation's music-making facilities, in addition to our spacious and back-lined rehearsal studio there are also two performance venues on premise (Substation Seattle and The Annex), a high-end recording studio as well as two outdoor, semi-private patio areas for casual lounging and social time. |
Centralized Community Hub & Musical Gathering Space

Our plan moving forward is to establish our new rehearsal studio space as a centralized community hub and musical gathering space for all things Festival of Friends including hosting band meet and greets, series rehearsals and other future community programming initiatives. Stay tuned in the weeks ahead for exciting information on what's being planned!
And, as an added bonus, FoF community members will have the opportunity to reserve and utilize the studio for their own musical needs and recreational projects on either a pre-paid monthly or one-off/ad-hoc basis as well as some forms of in-kind support. See below for more information and how you can participate in the FoF space-sharing initiative while helping to support the sustainability of our community's new musical hub and gathering space in Ballard. Prime days and times are available with a mix of pricing options included to fit various budgets and needs. |

FoF Community / Rehearsal Space-Sharing Initiative
If you're a Festival of Friends community member interested in reserving time at the FoF community studio space for either individual use (e.g.,drum practice, vocal work, etc) or with a larger group or your own band, please contact us using the form below to confirm space availability for the session date(s) and time(s) you're looking to reserve. We will confirm your requested session date(s) and time(s) with you via email with additional information on how to finalize your booking.
You can request time (either as an individual or group/band) on either a pre-paid monthly basis or ad-hoc basis depending on your needs and availability. The following two pricing options will be available to Festival of Friends Community Members beginning April, 2025:
Pre-Paid Monthly Sessions: Perfect for individuals, groups or bands who seek a predictable, pre-scheduled, regular monthly arrangement:
- For Individuals-
- Reserve a total of 8 or 16 hours per month @$25/hr.
- Minimum one, 2-hour or 4-hour "session block" per week for 4 weeks.
- For Groups or Bands-
- Reserve a total of 8 or 16 hours per month @$30/hr.
- Minimum, one, 2-hour or 4-hour session block per week for 4 weeks.
- Reservations:
- Monthly reservations are arranged and prepaid on a monthly basis (prorated accordingly if you come in after the 1st).
- Monthly reservation "renewals" need to be confirmed by the 20th of each month and paid by the first of the new month.

Ad-hoc /One-off Sessions: Perfect for individuals, groups or bands who need a rehearsal space on a one-off or last minute basis:
- Individuals: @$25/hr.
- Groups or Bands ; @$30/hr.
- Reservations:
- Ad-hoc/One-off reservations can be made either "Day Of" -or- a max of two weeks in advance of the planned date(s).
- Minimum one, 2 or 4 hour session.
