Bandmixers Discography Series / Selections From -

BOSTON / GREATEST HITS COMPILATION (1997)

Picture
Boston is an American rock band formed in 1976, known for their polished, radio-friendly sound that blends hard rock with elements of progressive rock. The band was created by guitarist and songwriter Tom Scholz, who became the driving force behind their music. Their self-titled debut album, Boston (1976), was a massive commercial success, featuring hits like “More Than a Feeling” and “Peace of Mind.” The album is considered one of the best-selling debut albums in history.  Boston's music is characterized by lush harmonies, layered guitar work, and sophisticated production, much of which is attributed to Scholz's engineering skills. Despite lineup changes over the years, Scholz remained the central figure. The band's sound, which evolved slightly over time, continued to resonate with fans throughout the decades.  Notable follow-up albums include Don't Look Back (1978) and Third Stage (1986). The band's influence on arena rock and their enduring popularity is marked by their timeless hits, which continue to be staples of classic rock radio.
